The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced an urgent nationwide recall of alfalfa sprouts that have been linked to 22 confirmed cases of salmonella across ten states.

The sprouts are being voluntarily recalled by Caldwell Fresh Foods of Maywood, California. They were distributed to retailers, delicatessens and restaurants under the Caldwell Fresh Foods, Nature’s Choice, and California Exotics brands.

The sprouts were sold in a variety of different sized containers, including four-ounce plastic cups, five-ounce plastic clamshell containers, as well as two-pound and five-pound plastic bags.
