The 2009 Conference of Food Engineeering (CoFE'09) will cover topics such as sustainability of the US Food System - from field to table and beyond.
Other issues include dehydration technologies, extrusion processing, alternative thermal processes, nanotechnology applications in foods and food safety and security.
Plenary speakers already lined up include Stephan Palzer, of the Nestlé Research Centre, and Paul Singh, Distinguished Professor of Food Engineering at the University of California-Davis.
The 10th annual conference, organized by members of the NC-1023 Food Engineering Committee , is in Columbus, Ohio, from April 5-8.
