The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has lifted import restrictions on Cargill’s canola meal, which is mainly used to boost protein content in cattle feed, according to a Reuters report.
Cargill’s Clavet, Saskatchewan plant was one of five that has been on US import alert since March after the FDA found the canola meal to be contaminated with salmonella.
The Saskatchewan plant is the final Cargill plant of the five to be removed from the import alert list, which brings greater scrutiny at the US border.
