Major food firms discuss growth opportunities

Executives in some of the nation's leading food companies are to meet today with analysts to present an update of their business and plans for future growth.

The firms will be addressing investors at the 2007 Consumer Analyst Group of New York (CAGNY) Conference, kicking off today and running through to Friday.

 

 

 

Today's morning program includes presentations from the chief executive officers of General Mills, ConAgra, Kraft, Hershey and Heinz. Executives from Del Monte Foods, Hormel Foods and ADM will address attendees this afternoon.

 

 

 

Tomorrow's program includes presentations from Kellogg's, Campbell, Smithfield Foods and Sara Lee. Other major food companies scheduled for presentations on Thursday include Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and Cadbury Schweppes.

 

 

 

The conference, which will be attended by institutional investors, is designed to provide analysts with an insight into the performance and growth plans of leading consumer goods firms.

 

 

 

For example, during Kraft's presentation, the firm's chief executive officer Irene Rosenfeld will present the Kraft's comprehensive three-year strategy to accelerate growth and outline 2007 earnings guidance and the firm's long-term financial outlook.
