The number of eggs recalled nationwide due to contamination with salmonella enteriditis has exceeded half a billion, as the recall expanded to a second farm on Friday.
Hillandale farm in Iowa said it was recalling 170m eggs after they were found to be tainted with the same strain of salmonella as those from another Iowa egg producer, Wright County Egg, which has already recalled 380m eggs.
