A limited number of Breyers ice cream tubs that may contain undeclared wheat are being recalled by makers Unilever in conjunction with the FDA.

The voluntary recall follows several customer complaints, but no adverse reactions have been reported.

The tubs’ lids describe the product as All Natural Cookies and Cream flavor, whilst the tub portions are labeled All Natural Mint Choc Chip.

The product is actually Cookies and Cream, which contains wheat, yet this is not declared on the ingredient statement on the tubs.

Wheat is one of eight major food allergens that must be listed on food product labels under FDA rules. The others are milk, egg, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, and soybeans.
