The CAL-PURE co-op of Californian pistachio growers and the Western Pistachio Association have launched a website to advise consumers of pistachio-containing foods that are safe to eat.

The site, which is being updated regularly, includes a list of brands that do not source their pistachios from Setton Pistachio, the company at the center of the recall.

It says: “The vast majority of pistachio products and foods containing pistachio products do not contain pistachios from Setton” and points consumers to the FDA website at www.fda.gov/pistachios for more information on the recall.

So far, 144 products have been recalled due to possible salmonella contamination. The FDA said it has identified two illnesses that could be related to pistachios, but a link has not yet been confirmed.
