A Michigan restaurant has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest burger ever sold, according to a Press Association report.

The burger, which was sold at Mallie's Sports Grill and Bar in Southgate, Michigan, weighed in at 182lb and cost $499.

The bun was baked for eight hours, and the burger for fifteen, before being topped with lettuce, tomato, and cheese, and wheeled into the restaurant on a trolley, PA reported.

Restaurant owner Steve Mallie was quoted as saying: “Being in the Guinness World Records book is the greatest accomplishment we've ever done. I've worked my entire life to build this restaurant and being able to have the notoriety of Guinness makes it just that bit more rewarding."
