The Codex Alimentarius Commission sets quality standards, guidelines and codes of practice for all fruits and vegetables, whether they are sold to food manufacturers or directly to the public.

The USDA, along with the Food Safety Inspection Service and the Agricultural Marketing Service, has said it is seeking comments from industry.
