The Registry requires reports to be filed through an FDA internet portal if there is reason to believe that adulterated food or feed will cause “serious adverse health consequences or death to humans or animals.”
The role of food safety officials at a federal, state and local level will also be discussed at the meetings. The Registry is due to be implemented on September 8.
The meeting dates are:
- July 23, 2009, from 9am to noon at the Harvey W. Wiley Federal Building, FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, MD.
- August 5, 2009, from 9am to noon at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, IL.
- August 25, 2009, from 9am to noon at the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building, Edward Roybal Auditorium, Oakland, CA.
