CytoSport has developed an organic variation of its popular, high-protein Muscle Milk RTD to meet increasing US consumer demand for organically-certified products.
CytoSport, recently acquired by US firm Hormel Foods for US$450m (€333m), announced the launch of chocolate and vanilla flavor Muscle Milk Organic RTD shakes earlier this week.
Each 8.25oz carton of Muscle Milk Organic, which will be available exclusively in Target stores and online at Target.com, contains 15g of US Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified organic dairy protein.
Sweetened with organic can sugar and organic stevia, Muscle Milk Organic contains just 120 calories.
Commenting, Nikki Brown, chief marketing officer, CytoSport, said that Muscle Milk Organic will enable it to reach a new corner of the market.
