Florida-based Epicurex has put a for-sale sign up over organic coconut water and extra virgin coconut oils brand Cocozia.

The brand, which is USDA Organic Certified, Non-GMO Project Certified, and Kosher Certified, hit the US market in summer 2013, and is currently available on Amazon and selected bricks and mortar retailers, although Epicurex has not provided any details of its performance and availability beyond saying that it is doing “quite well.”

In a statement, Epicurex VP sales Gordon Hansen said. “The timing couldn’t be better for a top quality brand like Cocozia to seek a new owner. Metrics confirm that the coconut water sector in the US expanded by a phenomenal 27% in 2015.”

Speaking to FoodNavigator-USA in early 2014 after striking a deal to get the brand distributed via UNFI’s York, Pennsylvania, DC, former VP sales Paul Kilbride said the coconut water was “harvested in the Philippines from young green coconuts.”
