Sahale produces a range of branded products including fruit and nut mixes and bars, bagged nut assortments and glazed nuts.
The transaction is set to close mid-September and will JM Smucker dive deeper into the snacking space, said its president of US retail consumer foods.
“The addition of the Sahale Snacks premium lifestyle brand, and its portfolio of innovative and on-trend products, provides an established platform for growth in the snacking space,” Paul Smucker Wagstaff said.
Sahale Snacks has projected net sales of around $50m for 2014. The acquisition includes a leased facility in Seattle, Washington.
