Sunny D excited by US SodaStream co-development deal

SodaStream has signed a exclusive deal with Sunny Delight that allows the controversial Israeli firm to add its juice-based drinks to its home carbonation platform.

Sodastream has inked the deal with Ohio-based Sunny Delight to co-develop SunnyD Tangy Original Orange, Orange-Strawberry and other flavors exclusively for the SodaStream home beverage carbonation system.

The firms expect to launch these products in H2 2014 across the United States.

SodaStream is making mileage out of poking fun at PepsiCo and Coke with its edgy ads (the latest being a Scarlett Johansson inspired slot) and Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream said: “Adding our sparkle to these popular flavors will attract a new audience to both brands, further driving consumer interest in the growing home carbonation category.”
