With changes at the top at PepsiCo, Coke, Mondelez International and Campbell Soup, and new appointments at snacks specialist Diamond Foods, flavors experts Takasago Flavors and Bell Flavors & Fragrances, bakery ingredients giant Puratos and rice ingredients expert RiceBran Technologies, we have an action-packed photo gallery round-up of new hires this winter. We kick off with PepsiCo, which has just recruited Washington insider Alan Hoffman as senior VP, global public policy and government affairs. Hoffman, who took up his post on November 26, will lead PepsiCo's public policy and government affairs activities worldwide. Hoffman most recently served as deputy chief of staff to Joe Biden and Deputy Assistant to President Obama, where he was responsible for the long-term planning and day-to-day operations of the vice president's office. In this role, he provided policy, political, communications, legislative, and legal advice to the vice president, cabinet members and administration staff. "Alan is a proven leader who brings tremendous experience and expertise to PepsiCo," said Larry Thompson, executive vice president, government affairs, general counsel and corporate secretary, PepsiCo. Hoffman, who will report to Thompson and be based in PepsiCo's Purchase, New York headquarters, replaces Dan Bryant, who was recently named chair of the public policy and government affairs practice at Covington & Burling.
