Nestlé subsidiary Tribe Mediterranean Foods appoints new CEO

Massachusetts-based Tribe Mediterranean Foods, a subsidiary of Nestlé SA and the OSEM Group, has appointed John McGuckin as Chief Executive Officer of its U.S. operations. He will join the company on December 5.

“McGuckin is known for his team-building and brand expansion skills, developed through various leadership roles,”​ the company said in a press release. His résumé includes roles as executive vice president of North American sales and as general manager of Canada for Sabra; as global director and chief sales officer for The Chia Co. and most recently, as chief executive officer of Maya Kaimal Fine Indian Foods, LLC.

McGuckin’s undergraduate studies were completed at Rutgers University and he later earned certification from the Finance for Senior Executives program at Harvard University.  

“I’m very pleased to join the team at Tribe, which brings 'the Mediterranean' to the deli case with a growing portfolio of authentic, tasty, and nutritious hummus products. In a way, Tribe helped to change the way America snacks!”​ said McGuckin. 

The brand’s TRIBE Hummus comes in over 85 varieties and sizes. The products are kosher-certified and free of hydrogenated oils and high-fructose corn syrup.
