The non-profit organization behind the Mediterranean diet pyramid has released a new display poster to illustrate its updated version, which was unveiled earlier this year.
Oldways promotes science-backed healthy eating and says its new pyramid reflects advancements in scientific research. A flood of new studies has added support to the health benefits of the Mediterranean style of eating, prompting the current revision of the pyramid.
The three primary changes involve the prominence of all plant-based foods, increased recommendations for fish consumption, and the addition of herbs and spices.
The poster measures 24 x 36 inches, costs $10, and is available via the Oldways website .
