Archer Daniels Midland has said it intends to double canola seed receiving capabilities and storage capacity at its Lloydminster, Alberta, processing facility.
Pending permit approvals, ADM said it expects the expansion to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.
Commercial manager at ADM Agri-Industries’ Lloydminster facility J.P. Montalvo said: “As area farmers continue to produce higher canola yields, they expect fast, efficient and predictable receiving facilities. We are committed to area farmers, and expanding our Lloydminster receiving and storage operations will help ensure we are the destination of choice for their canola crop.”
The expansion includes constructing new storage bins and a second receiving system, which ADM said should significantly reduce unloading times for area farmers.
