Cognis plans new application centers to appeal to local tastes

15-Nov-2010

Cognis has announced plans to open new application centers for food ingredients in Brazil, the United States and China to cater to regional preferences, the company has said.

Cognis said it intends to open a center to trial bakery products in Jacarei, Brazil, to coincide with the opening of a new production line there at the end of the first quarter of 2011. The company opened its first application center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in June, to serve customers in Southeast Asia, and said it also plans to open centers in the US and China, but did not specify when.

Global business director Holger Riemensperger said: “At our state-of-the-art trial bakery plants, we are able to produce all types of baked goods and emulate almost any baking process. Our new regional application centers will help us to develop food solutions that are tailored to customer needs – be it a plain roll, a specific bread mix or cake.”
