H. J. Heinz Company said it will continue to focus on taste, nutrition, affordability and convenience after it scored the highest US consumer satisfaction rating of any company in the food manufacturing sector, according to a University of Michigan index.
It is the ninth year that Heinz has been the top-rated food company on the University’s American Customer Satisfaction Index, which is a national economic indicator of customer evaluations of the quality of products and services available to US consumers.
William Johnson, Heinz chairman, president and CEO, said: “We plan to continue providing consumers with new reasons to try our foods as we innovate in terms of taste, nutrition, affordability and convenience.”
The index is updated quarterly with new measures for different sectors of the economy replacing data from the prior year. The overall score for a given quarter factors in scores from about 200 companies in 43 industries and from government agencies over the previous four quarters.
