McCormick launches 40 new products, from adobo to matcha
Packaged spice giant McCormick announced its new fall product line-up, and its reflecting a nationwide trend for new flavors from around the world.

McCormick announced 40 new products. “Gourmet flavors inspired by Japanese and Korean cuisines, blends packed with ingredients like chia and matcha, and food color made from plants and seeds are just some of the products that will appear on store shelves this autumn,” the company said in a press release.

"Between prepping back-to-school dinners, making cozy stews and gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas baking, fall is a busy time of year in the kitchen," said Virginia Jordan, McCormick Vice President of Marketing. "McCormick is launching a range of purely delicious, quality products people can feel good about -- whether they're making tacos with an organic recipe mix made from natural herbs and spices or adding gingerbread spice to waffle batter on Christmas morning."

More green

Matcha flavor isn’t just going into beverages in the US—people are flavoring their yogurt with it, or making matcha chia pudding. McCormick listened, and this fall, one of its new products will be a Matcha green tea with ginger seasoning that consumers can sprinkle on anything they wish.

It[s part of a series of spice blends that the company said “can be used every day, in everything from eggs and smoothies to fresh salsas and grilled chicken.” The series of gourmet spice blends include Citrus Chili & Garlic with Chia, Cinnamon & Nutmeg with Chia, and Italian Seasoning with Flaxseed.

More adventure with flavor

Flavor forecasters have long predicted what direction the growing palette of American consumers was headed to. Tolerance to spiciness has been increasing, and McCormick is unleashing heat in its various new black pepper blends for the fall: Chipotle Black Pepper Seasoning, Sriracha Black Pepper Seasoning, Hot Shot Extra Bold Pepper Blend, Smokehouse Black Pepper, and Worcesershire Black Pepper Seasoning.

There’s also a wide range of Latino flavors, including several authentic Mexican ones: Jalapeño Mayonesa, Chipotle Mayonesa, Carne Asada Seasoning, and Adobo Seasoning with or without pepper.
