PepsiCo is in talks with Indian authorities in the Punjab in relation to expanding an existing beverage production facility there.
The beverage and snacks confirmed talks were underway in email communication to BeverageDaily today.
However, Praveen Someshwar, CEO, PepsiCo India Beverages told this publication he could not give any further information about the Zahura project until it was given official clearance.
The facility would have three production lines for producing beverages, including concentrate, according to Indian news agency PTI.
PTI said the company had put an investment proposal to the Punjab government. Under an incentive scheme, PepsiCo could be awarded stamp duty and electricity duty exemption if the expansion is approved by local authorities.
