Bakery and confectionery ingredient firm Puratos has introduced its mobile sensory laboratory concept – called Sensobus – in the United States, aiming to gain the opinions of over 25,000 North American consumers in its first year.
The company has been using its Sensobus concept in Europe for the past seven years, but this is the first time the company has taken a truck on the road in the US. The mobile sensory analysis laboratory is intended for tailor-made sensory analysis projects for Puratos’ customers.
It allows 300 consumers per day to take part in food research at eight individual tasting booths on board. Staffed by specialist sensory analysts, Sensobus tasters are asked questions about product prototypes and their answers are used to help direct the company’s customers’ new product launches.
