The CEO of US firm Natur Research Ingredients, Loren Miles, is to promote the benefits of its Cweet Natural Intense Sweetener to the European market as it awaits regulatory approval.

Miles will address R&D staff and management from food, beverage, sweetener and ingredient companies in Food Valley, Wageningen, Netherlands on December 16.

Cweet, made from brazzein, the fruit of Pentadiplandra brazzeana Baillon, is said to be 1,000 times sweeter than sucrose on a weight-basis with a taste profile similar to sucrose.

The ingredient is currently in the process of regulatory approval for use in both the US and Europe.

Miles said: "We will be reviewing Cweet Natural Intense Sweetener (1000x) and Cweet 3000x which is 3000 times sweeter than sucrose by weight, among the alternatives to artificial sweeteners, HFCS and stevia options.

He added that they had been “invited by numerous R&D Scientists from many leading food and beverage concerns based throughout Europe”.

The company is part of Natur Research, based in Los Angeles, California, and exclusively manufactures and distributes Cweet worldwide.
