Pizzey's Milling

Pizzey's Milling, North America's largest most experienced specialty-flaxseed ingredient supplier, is headquartered in the heart of North America's flaxseed belt, where the clean, cool prairies produce the world's finest quality flaxseed - a flaxseed particularly rich in nutritionally valuable lignans and omega-3s. Pizzey's Milling offers a wide range of premium flaxseed products throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

The operation includes a 50,000 sq ft manufacturing and R & D facility in Manitoba, and a 15,000 sq ft marketing and distribution in Gurnee, IL. Our integrated team of experts is knowledgeable and ready to help you find applications for our specialty flaxseed ingredients in your products.

Flaxseed provides a highly economical source of Omeg-3 oils (22%), dietary fiber, and lignan phytoestrogens for nutritional products, supplements and beverages. Omega-3 from flaxseed that is incorporated into a food product qualifies for nutrient content claims and structure function claims. As a nutrient content claim, only 260 mg of ALA per serving must be present in order to qualify for a "High", "Rich", or "Excellent" Source of ALA Omega-3 claim. Appropriate structure function claims include "Supports Cardiovascular Health", "Supports a healthy Immune System", and "Supports General Health". Food manufacturers should consult FDA guidelines to ensure that their products are consistent with the requirements.

Pizzey's patented MeadowPure Quality process captures 100% of flaxseed's nutritional value and keeps flaxseed's natural protective mechanisms intact, thereby guaranteeing the stability of these ingredients under normal storage conditions.
