For the food industry we offer you the controlled encapsulation of a large variety of molecules. Our technology of choice is encapsulation via ring-shaped sugar molecules, known as cyclodextrins. WACKER’s pioneering CAVAMAX® cyclodextrin technology is frequently used for increasing bioavailability, stabilizing against heat or oxidation, taste and odor masking and also includes cyclodextrin formulations of flavors, antioxidants, nutrients as well as custom tailored formulations. CAVAMAX® W8 cyclodextrin is used, for example, to increase the bioavailability of functional ingredients like curcumin or CoQ10. In this case, we supply you with ready-to-use complexes. CAVAMAX® W6 cyclodextrin is a soluble dietary fiber and furthermore ideally suited for texturizing oil-in-water emulsions. It’s highly stable to heat and acid conditions, non hygroscopic and nonbrowning, neutral tasting and colorless. All CAVAMAX® cyclodextrins are FDA notified GRAS.
WACKER also produces a novel range of non-human non-animal derived L-cysteine products, approved for use in vegetarian, kosher and halal foods. Our cysteine is used, for example, for the production of savory flavors and as a processing auxiliary to make baked goods. It is also extremely suitable for use in fermentation media.
