Sustainability summit aims to create new network
The Corporate Sustainability Summit marks the beginning of a new network for executives who lead companies in environmental responsibility and sustainable initiatives, which is described as an emerging professional specialty.
Sustainability is an issue gathering speed in the food industry and the summit comes at a time when some corporations are still writing job descriptions for executives in this field, according to The Center for Corporate Sustainability, which is hosting the event.
Topics on the agenda include greening the global supply chain, sustainable manufacturing in a global economy, green transportation and logistics strategies, alternative energy, confronting green wash and any legal and risk management issues that may arise from “going green”.
The conference will take place on January 29-30 in Austin, Texas.
