USDA launches Spanish food safety podcasts
A new food safety podcast series in Spanish has been launched by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The Food Safety at Home podcast series is designed to help the Spanish speaking community understand the four basic steps of the service’s Be Food Safe campaign: Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill.
“These podcasts are part of an FSIS initiative to educate Spanish-speaking consumers on safe food handling practices and the risks associated with foodborne illness,” said FSIS Administrator Al Almanza. “Each episode will discuss valuable information on the safe handling, preparation, and storage of meat, poultry, and processed egg products when cooking at home.”
The podcasts feature public health experts discussing a variety of topics that will help consumers keep their food safe.
