GLG Life Tech Corporation has accepted a $40.5m from Cargill to supply its Reb A stevia extract starting in October, with the possibility of further orders over the following 18 months, the company said.

GLG supplies Cargill with its Truvia brand of Reb A, the high-purity, all-natural, zero-calorie sweetener derived from stevia leaves. Cargill, in turn, supplies Coca-Cola with Reb A.

Truvia business director Zanna McFerson said: “We are pleased to expand our relationship with GLG, our key supply chain partner for high grade stevia extract, and look forward to many years of a successful partnership together. Numerous consumer facing products containing Truvia rebiana natural sweetener will be introduced to the US marketplace in the next year.”
