There was also good and bad news for the nation’s corn refiners in May. While discovering that the FDA had rejected their bid to recognize 'corn sugar' as an alternate name for high fructose corn syrup was a major setback, ConAgra's decision to revert back to using HFCS in its Hunt’s ketchup after a high-profile switch to sugar in 2010 must have provided some consolation.
