German firm recalls curry powder over Salmonella concerns
24 August 2012 – Hartkorn Gewürzmühle GmbH has initiated a voluntary recall of two curry powder products over concerns they are contaminated with Salmonella.
The Germany-based firm is recalling aluminium cans and maxi bags of the product from shelves.
“On 22 August we were officially informed that a sample of our curry seasoning has tested positive for Salmonella. We immediately informed retailers and asked them to remove the two possibly affected products from shelves,” said a statement from the firm.
The firm added that no other products had been affected by the recall.
