The debate over the merits of high fructose corn syrup continued to rage in the comment section of FoodNavigator-USA in September with the publication of a paper describing it as “one of the most misunderstood food ingredients”, a proposal to change the way it is labelled and a new counter claim in the legal wrangle over ‘corn sugar’ between the corn refiners and sugar producers.
