Glenna McCollum becomes 2013-2014 president of the Academy Of Nutrition And Dietetics (AND)
Now we move on to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), where registered dietitian nutritionist Glenna McCollum, vice president of health and nutrition for PhycoBiosciences, Inc., of Chandler, Arizona, has just begun her one-year term as the 2013-2014 president.
With 75,000+ members, AND is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals and McCollum is its 88th president.
“The Academy has made significant changes to facilitate our strategic positioning in the marketplace as food and nutrition leaders,” McCollum said.
“I want to challenge us to expand even further our leadership and influence. For example, we need to engage young members for future leadership roles within our organization. They have strong voices, are smart, energetic, tech-savvy and ready to engage. They are the pathway to our future.”
A graduate of Arizona State University, McCollum earned a master’s degree from Loma Linda University and a doctorate in management and organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix.
