US meat processor Cargill has announced multi-million investment to upgrade its integrated poultry facility in Thailand.

The firm said it would spend US$10m (about THB300m at the facility in Saraburi, which processes cooked poultry products for retail, manufacturers and foodservice chains across Asia, Europe and North America.

The upgrade will include an improvement of the plant’s cold storage capabilities and is expected to be completed by July 2014. It follows from a $110m expansion of the company’s other Thai poultry facility, which is located in Korat, in 2011.
