Kraft Foods names Sam Rovit as President of Oscar Mayer
Next we go to Kraft Foods Group, which has appointed Sam Rovit executive vice president and president of its Oscar Mayer business unit. Rovit - formerly executive vice president of strategy - succeeds Nick Meriggioli, who will be leaving the firm early next year.
Rovit - who helped orchestrate the separation of Kraft Foods Inc. into two standalone, public companies: Kraft Foods Group and Mondelez International - is a "transformational thinker who has a unique ability to look at every aspect of the business, ask the hard questions and bring something new to the table", said Kraft CEO Tony Vernon said.
Rovit joined Kraft in 2011 from Bain & Company, where he was a senior partner. During his 20-year tenure at Bain, he led several practice areas including global M&A, corporate renewal and turnarounds, and agribusiness.
He also served for two years as CEO of meat processor Swift & Co.
