RiceBran Technologies hires Joon Park as its new vp of food ingredient sales
RiceBran Technologies - which specializes in developing value added ingredients from rice bran, has recruited Joon Park as vice president, food ingredient sales.
Park is already an expert in rice bran having previously been responsible for sales, marketing and product development support for rice bran protein and rice bran fiber products for South Korea-based food ingredient, food, pharmaceutical and biotechnology firm CJ Cheil Jedang.
Park, who has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and North America and speaks five languages, will be based in Chicago, where he will manage RiceBran Tech’s sales and marketing activities for food ingredients in North America, said RiceBran Tech’s CEO John Short.
Short said: "We are excited to have Joon join the RiceBran Technologies sales team. His specific knowledge of rice bran products and derivatives developed over the past several years at CJ, his network of target customers interested in rice bran products and derivatives, and his extensive international sales and marketing experience are expected to bring immediate value to our sales and marketing efforts."
By arresting the enzymatic reaction that causes raw rice bran to deteriorate after milling, RiceBran Technologies can stabilize the bran and produce a range of ingredients from rice bran oil to soluble and insoluble fibers.
