Sunsweet PlumSweets go Greek
Nearly a quarter of Americans say they’re eating more Greek yogurt this year than last year, according to a 2013 Mintel report. Sunsweet is capitalizing on the never-say-die trend with the recent launch of Greek Style PlumSweets.

At 180 calories per ¼ cup serving, prunes are emerging as a dried fruit packed with health benefits, despite their image problem in the US. Recent studies suggest that prunes may help keep bones strong by preventing bone mineral loss, which often leads to osteoporosis. Additionally, prunes are a natural source of fiber, which can aid in weight maintenance, blood sugar control and digestive health. Compared to other dried fruits, prunes are lower in sugar and calories. They also have a glycemic index of only 29, meaning they’re digested slowly by the body, which helps to sustain energy over a longer period of time than high GI foods.
