Soda for grown ups...
While Coke and Pepsi are struggling in the carbonated soft drinks aisle, several smaller players offering less sweet, more sophisticated brands are proving that Americans haven't lost interest in bubbles just yet.
Two such firms making a splash at the Fancy Food show this year were GuS (Grown Up Soda), and Joia All Natural Soda.
Says Carleton Johnson, founder of Boundary Waters Brands (Joia): "There's been a huge amount of interest in craft beer, and now we're seeing the same thing in craft soda, with much more interesting flavor profiles and a less sweet taste."
