Dried fruit line targets bakery, yogurt manufacturers
Oregon Cherry Growers launched a new line of dried cherries, strawberries and blueberries for food product developers and chefs. The Royal Harvest line of easy-to-use diced, sliced and whole fruits are dried to the optimal moisture level for year-round use in culinary and baking applications.
Executive chefs and bakers who tested the fruit in a range of applications from muffins and granola to cupcake frosting, yogurt and baked items noted that the fruit had better consistency and a richer fruit flavor, according to the company. Available in 18 oz. packages, 2.5 lb. bags and 25 lb. bulk packaging, the fruits are also kosher and halal certified.
