FAL Healthy Beverages, a FAL Group brand, launched Coco Joy Kids, a line of coconut water for kids with no added sugar or preservatives this month at most major retailers.
Launched in concert with the brand’s adult-targeted Coco Joy line, Coco Joy is made from fresh, young green coconuts from Southeast Asia. Compared to leading coconut water brands, Coco Joy products have fewer calories, less sodium, no added sugar and no preservatives, the brand claims. Coco Joy Kids, available in 8.4-ounce cans, feature characters from Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue and other Disney movies.
Kid-targeted beverages are on the rise, as manufacturers look to capitalize on the need for healthy hydration options for pint-size consumers, as soda and even 100% juice come under fire for their added sugar content. (See here, here and here.)
