Herbalife appoints PepsiCo man Alan L. Hoffman to new role of EVP global corporate affairs
Next we move to LA-based multi-level marketing giant Herbalife, which has recruited PepsiCo’s public policy chief Alan L. Hoffman to the new role of executive vice president of global corporate affairs.
Hoffman, who will report to CEO and chairman Michael O. Johnson, will lead public policy, corporate communications, government affairs, community relations and philanthropy, effective August 25.
Hoffman - who previously served as deputy chief of staff to Joe Biden and deputy assistant to President Obama before joining PepsiCo in 2012 - joins Herbalife at a challenging time as the firm is fighting a campaign waged by activist investor Bill Ackman, who has taken a short position on the company valued at as much as $1bn.
