Does ‘all-natural’ still resonate with shoppers?
We believe in ‘all natural’ claims and still believe the consumer is seeking them in their shopping routine.
Should the FDA define ‘natural’?
Yes, we believe they should if we want a solid benchmark however, some marketers will always find a route around the regulations.
Where does non-GMO fit into the natural debate?
We feel the Non-GMO Project verified stamp is the stamp of credibility for the natural food arena. [But] I don’t agree that [GMO labeling] statutes need to be enacted at the state levels; we need to keep it on a ‘trust but verify’ basis. The consumers that are label readers and interested in the Non-GMO movement, will always seek the truth.
