Next we head to flavor and fragrance company Takasago International Corporation, USA, which has appointed Dr. Markus Eckert as its new vice president flavor creation & technology.
Founded in Japan in 1920, Takasago has developed flavors and fragrances for some of the world's most successful food, beverage, fine fragrance, household and personal care products.
The firm recently hit the headlines after announcing a collaboration with Swiss synthetic biology pioneer Evolva to co-develop novel biosynthetic production routes for several undisclosed ingredients with applications in the flavors and fragrances industry. The two will apply Evolva’s fermentation technology platform to develop and optimize yeast strains to produce the ingredients.
