Everything but the … eggs? Cherryvale Farms teams up with Hampton Creek Foods
We know Hampton Creek Foods best for its retail products, notably egg-free spread Just Mayo. But the San Francisco-based firm is also supplying its plant-based ingredients to food manufacturers on a wholesale basis, and has recently teamed up with Cherryvale Farms, which has reformulated its baking mixes to feature Hampton Creek’s sorghum-based ingredient instead of powdered egg.
Cherryvale co-founder Lindsey Rosenberg said: “Hampton Creek’s innovative ingredients are not only more sustainable than chicken eggs, they make our products cholesterol-free, improve the texture and mouth feel of the baked goods, and in blind taste tests, have proven to have even more flavor appeal than the company’s previous formulations.”
