Best Cheese Corporation, the makers of Parrano cheese, launched at the Summer Fancy Food Show a lavender Melkbus, which will be a limited edition for sale in the summer. Marketing Assistant Jeanette Hicks said lavender is emerging as a special treat in part because it recalls long summer days and relaxing picnics. In the Melkbus, the herb is paired with rosemary and thyme so that it is not too overwhelming and to create a taste of the outdoors. Hicks recommends eating it with apple pie or cubed with wine and fruit. The cheese company also launched a champagne chevre, which is slightly sweet and tangy and can be enjoyed during special occasions and celebrations.
