Paleo pizza extends Cappello’s portfolio
Colorado-based Cappello’s extends its portfolio of grain- and gluten-free products beyond pasta and cookie dough to include four frozen pizzas. The new line includes classics, such as pepperoni and cheese, but also a less common sheep’s milk cheese pizza, which will help the brand and retailers reach consumers who are sensitive to cow’s milk. It also has a naked crust that consumers can dress as they please. The company also notes the line will help retailers tap into the gluten-free market, which it estimates will grow 48% to $15.6 billion in 2016, and the paleo market, which is forecast to reach $300 million in sales by 2018.
