Bill Keith, Perfect Bar: A definition could limit lawsuits that continue to thwart growth for many of the good guys
Finally, we caught up with Bill Keith, founder and CEO of pioneering refrigerated bar brand Perfect Bar.
When it comes to food labeling, I think it’s always a good idea to support consumers' rights to know and understand what’s in their food, that’s just good business. Clearly defining ‘natural’ could potentially limit the class action lawsuits that continue to thwart growth for many of the good guys.
It would also limit the ability of less diligent companies to make false or exaggerated claims that lead to consumer distrust. As manufacturers we need to ensure that we have an avenue for sustained growth, part of that is being diligent in what we put on the label so that consumers trust us.
