It’s great to see the FDA taking action. We know that consumers want to make more informed choices about what they eat but are often times confused by terms like ‘natural’ which is being used to create a healthy halo effect. Only by taking steps to create stricter definitions that are fact-based and not misleading, will consumers have the transparency they desire. And only when the FDA clearly defines what constitutes a product being ‘natural’ will manufacturers be held to a standard for their ingredients and thus be incented to be straightforward with consumers.
