Provisur carves out a new niche
Provisur launched its latest model of slicing machine, the PowerMax 4500, at the exhibition, capable of slicing four items at a time.
The innovation boosts productivity by a third compared to previous models, the most advanced of which could only handle three individual portions at a time.
The machine can be configured with up to four independent drives to suit the size and uniformity of products, meaning irregularly-shaped products could be handled more effectively, reducing giveaway.
With a blade speed of 1800 revolutions per minute, the unit is designed to tackle products ranging from luncheon meat or bacon to Prosciutto or pork loins.
It is hygienically designed to be easy to clean, with easy access to parts. Mechanical guards are minimised and safety instead enforced through the use of light curtains, which shut operations down if hands cross the barriers.
“Cleaning time is around 20-25 minutes – or about an hour in total including disassembling,” said Brian Sandberg, global product manager for slicing and autoloading.
