NEIL RENNINGER & ADAM LOWRY, co-founders, Ripple Foods: One plant-based milk to rule them all?
We begin with Ripple Foods, an Emeryville, CA-based technology company that secured a cool $13.5m in VC backing in 2015 and is about to roll out its pea-protein-based dairy-free ‘milks’ at two major retailers (all will be revealed on FoodNavigator-USA on Monday).
The brainchild of Amyris founder Neil Renninger and Method home care co-founder Adam Lowry, Ripple is claimed to be creamier and closer in flavor to dairy milk than soy and nut milks, with half the sugar of cow’s milk and eight times the protein of almond milk.
